The @kraftwerk 3-D show is coming back to America. Tix on sale this Thursday, 2/27 And for Philly fans at least, it's in a MUCH better venue this time: The Met. http://www.kraftwerk.com/concerts/index-concerts.html

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
I love this band but couldn't this be the ultimate 'stand up there and pretend you're playing while a prerecorded track plays through the PA' band? I guess it doesn't matter in the end.
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

i saw them with their 3D tour maybe 4-5 years ago in nyc. and, sure, they do just stand behind stands with laptops, but there is a fairly well done 3D presentation. having said that, even as a big kraftwerk fan, 2 hours of kraftwerk while wearing 3D glasses was a bit much. i think i'll pass this time - but if i hadn't seem them before, i'd be excited about this.
Saw the show last year in Paris and was a bit disappointed. The music is still the classic iconic Kraftwerk sound with some updates , but the visuals haven't aged as well (for my taste at least) especially the Autobahn visuals which look like a 90s amateur video animation. Otherwise nice show....
Dieter Moebius : "Art people like things they don’t understand!"
That's the way they allways worked since the beginning (except for the very early, mostly improvised, shows). But who really expects them to actually play their instruments ? Maybe some vocal parts will be live, but even that is not sure. Consider it as a audio-visual multimedia show,... and no it doesn't matter in the end.
I was at Kraftwerk's 3D show two years ago and my seat was so far to the right that I actually saw what was going on behind their podiums. Three of the band members were playing keyboards and as far as I could tell, all the melodies were played live.
I'll save you the trouble of going. Here's the distilled essence of the whole show:
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.
Well I've never seen them and they're playing Red Rocks, so I'm in..
