    ESOTERIC RELEASES 2019

ESOTERIC continues to produce excellently packaged, thoughtful remasters of classic proggy albums from the 1960s and 1970s. Mark and Vicky Powell deserve a lot of credit for all the hard graft they put into getting things right so customers feel they have a nice piece of history in their grasp. In our ACID DRAGON Kev Rowland, Thierry Sportouche and I have reviewed many, many ESOTERIC releases. In our November, 2019 issue BE-BOP DELUXE-SUNBURST FINISH; NUCLEUS- THE VERTIGO YEARS; PROCOL HARUM- BROKEN BARRICADES; RENAISSANCE- LIVE AT CARNEGIE HALL; SOFT MACHINE- THE HARVEST ALBUMS; THE STRAWBS- DEADLINES; TANGERINE DREAM: THE BLUE YEARS- OK '85 to '87; THIRD EAR BAND : S/T and ALCHEMY were all warmly received. And I got to interview DAVEs GREENSLADEand LAWSON soI was doubly pleased. All best wishes to ESOTERIC in 2020 as we look forward to re- discovering more eclectic music, taking more trips on the underground. It's looking good already!

Thanks for this post Phil. Esoteric have done yeoman duty with their many "Deluxe" edition CD releases with the Pocol Harum, Strawbs and Renaissance reissues being especially satisfying, especially to me personally. I'm also grateful that they issued new material form VDGG and the Strawbs over the last few years, and I hope those ventures were beneficial to them and that they continue releasing new product from classic prog artists. Well done, we prog fans appreciate their efforts.
