My review of Moskus' Salmesykkel , today at All About Jazz.

A new piano trio from Norway, with members who met while studying at the renowned Jazz Department of the Trondheim Conservatory of Music, pianist Anja Lauvdal, double bassist Fredrik Luhr Dietrichson and increasingly in-demand drummer Fredrik Luhr Dietrichson are up for two Norwegian Grammy Awards and this debut recording is the result of winning the first annual Debut Artist Award from the Grappa Record Company in 2011.

Touchstones are '70s-era Jarrett (more American than European quartet) and Paul Bley, but combined with the softer lyricism of Tord Gustavsen and Bobo Stenson.

A fine debut, worthy of attention. Review here.
