I was mostly joking but I find it ironic that the man who initiated the remix got to appreciate the original mix more than before in the process.

Unless the remix made it apparent that the perceived flaws in the original mix were actually part of the album's appeal? I hope not.
    Not just a Genesis fanboy.

Sorry, I missed the joke. I can understand the irony.

We are close to having a couple of masters that we like.

I will be sharing some A/B comparisons on the kickstarter this week as I am taking Thursday / Friday off from work to concentrate on this. Then I plan on doing the same thing again next week.

Thanks for spearheading this Mark. Really looking forward to it.
Does the $250 level include black or color vinyl?

Sure you will get asked again when you get your survey. Also they have told me there should be no difference in sound quality black or color these days thanks to DMM (Direct to Metal Mastering)

I was told way back then it didn't matter what color it was, but the picture discs were audibly terrible and wear out fast.

The manufacturer agrees, the color vinyl club on facebook agrees, and so do the places that sell record players. I need to buy a record player actually. I think I might go with the Rega Planer 6.

Mark, the Rega 6 with an Exact cartridge would be a great way to listen to Unfolded. I have a P5 that I have made a modification to. Message me for details. Looking forward to more post covid shows at the Manor!

Thanks I think that's what I am going to do. Any other thoughts on cartridges. The dealer in Chicago was saying maybe I would prefer a different cartridge that is a little cheaper.

Mark, I am not that well versed in cartridges. Are you familiar with Music Direct? They are located in Chicago, if you are not familiar, you need one of their annual catalogs! 300 pages of audio gear and music! Groovetracer is the upgrade for Rega I would recommend. Their machined subplatter is much better than Regas plastic one. The more expensive Regas use a metal subplatter but they are trying to serve a certain price point. Anyway I was able to change out the subplatter in about 5 mins and the results are very nice.

Mark (Monforti), I started another Discipline-related thread today (about Discipline's Chaos Out Of Order album), and I'd totally forgotten about this thread. I remembered you were planning to do a new release of Unfolded..., so I looked at the Kickstarter, which looks like it's now closed. I think it looked like it was successful, but I'm not positive. Anyway, I sent you a message in Kickstarted to see if it was still possible to pledge for a signed CD (or even an unsigned one). Mainly, I just want to make sure I can get one of the CDs, if they're going to be limited. Just thought I'd mention this here too - might as well let everyone know what the status is.

I can't believe that I missed this. If there is a way to preorder this, I'm in and if not, I'll be eagerly awaiting both the vinyl and the hi res digital release.

When will the Kickstarter for the 5.1 blu-ray + 1080p Live in 1995 combo go live? --Peter

I received the remixed CD today. Huge thanks to Mark and Rayna for the superhuman effort in making this happen, engaging with the band, running the Kickstarter, finding an amazing remix artist, and seemingly driving all around North America during the past few weeks to get signatures. It's a beautiful product: a very nice looking digipak, cool signatures in silver, and a remixed CD (the most important part) that I'm currently listening to. I'm hearing interesting differences. I'll comment further on the remix later.
