    Steve Howe Autobiography

New 352-page book from Steve Howe:

Due out in the UK April 2020, and looks like a September release for the USA.

    By Steve Howe

Whether in Yes, Asia, GTR, ABWH, Tomorrow or the Steve Howe Trio - and there's more - Steve Howe has continually proved himself to be the one of the world's greatest guitarists. Here, for the first time, he looks back on his five-decade long career. From jamming onstage with Jimi Hendrix to sharing Abbey Road studios with The Beatles, Steve's stories are steeped in rock'n'roll history. Including a number of unseen photographs and a full discography, All My Yesterdays is the first ever autobiography from a member of Yes, one of prog rock's most legendary bands.

Published through Omnibus Press (and they are taking pre-orders)

Rick Wakeman's, surely. Howe's claim must be that it's the first from a current member of Yes. Big deal.

That’s right, Caped Crusader came first, shoddy job though it is... Some good bits though.

Do you mean 'Say Yes!'? 'Caped Crusader' was a biography by Dan Wooding.

Wakeman had actually published two autobiographies by the time Bruford published his: Say Yes and Grumpy Old Rock Star.

Not if he hadn't obtained permission from himself

I wonder if it will have a chapter called "I'll kick you in the head!"

Ive read a couple books on YEs - The band and was not very well entertained or informed. I think I might like to hear directly from the artists themselves. If they are willing to actually say the truth.

Very few autobiographies give you the truth, given that they are written in the first person, by the first person, and generally seek to justify everything said first person did, and how and why everyone else is wrong.

With Steve Hackett's book coming out soon too it will be interesting to hear both sides of the GTR episode.

Thanks for setting the record straight. I'm not familiar with all of Wakeman's books, I didn't know any of them qualified as a proper autobiography. I have one that's more like a series of anecdotes.

I stand corrected on "Caped Crusader" - I have this and indeed it's not an autobiography at all. It's a shoddily edited thing but is valuable for a number of quotes, particularly by Anderson, many of which were later included in that Yes "In Their Own Words" book from ca. 1996.

While this book will no doubt contain a lot of interesting information, something about the way that blurb is written is really off-putting to me. Too "Classic Rock" and cookie-cutter for my tastes. Nice cover, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
