    Seaprog 2020

    Seaprog announces stellar 2020 lineup

Buoyed by the success of last year's event, Seaprog, Seattle's annual festival of progressive and psychedelic music, is thrilled to present what may be our most formidable lineup to date, on the weekend of June 5-7 at the historic Columbia City Theater.

This year's headliners are the legendary Nektar, the Jane Getter Premonition (featuring instrumental luminaries Adam Holzman, Alex Skolnick, Mark Egan, and Chad Wackerman), and San Diego psych phenoms Monarch. Rounding out the lineup in characteristically genre-stretching fashion are Baltimore kosmische Musik duo Wume, Russian avant-prog cosmonauts HAPPY55, and of course a bevy of the Pacific Northwest's finest musical explorers, including Bellingham's Smooth Kiwi, Kingston's Isthmusia, and Seattle artists Crystal Beth and the Boom Boom Band, Nosretep, Bimble Awry, and John L. Rice (with additional acts to be announced). Detailed descriptions and links to samples can be found at http://seaprogfest.org/artist/index/2020.html ; the festival schedule at http://seaprogfest.org/artist/schedule/2020.html

In a Seaprog first, we're also kicking off the festival with a cinema night on the preceding Thursday, June 4, with a screening of the acclaimed documentary Romantic Warriors IV: Krautrock by filmmakers Adele Schmidt and Jose Zegarra Holder, with a discussion to follow, at the lovely Beacon Cinema. Full festival passes are now available at https://co.clickandpledge.com/advanc...spx?wid=136227 Individual day passes will be available at a later date; seniors and military personnel can receive a 10-percent discount at the door.

As always, we salute Shunpike and 4 Culture for their generous administrative and financial support.

    See you there!

Looks interesting, for sure and reasonably priced to boot! How far is the Columbia Theater from the Wedgewood area of Seattle? My step-son lives there, so if I flew in it would give me a base of operations.
I'm not lazy. I just work so fast I'm always done.

    I know:
    Monarch (great)
    Wume (great)
Nektar (still kickin' it excellently all these years later)

Looks to be a great festival! Congratulations.

Maybe ten miles. But they're on opposite sides of the city center, and I-5 clogs up BAD at rush hour. The Link light rail doesn't go that far north yet, so you have to take the highway (bad), or take city streets (can be bad, depending), or get there hours early on Thursday and Friday.
