Very nice indeed! The Dark Third is a killer album, so if they are careening back in that direction, good news, for sure.

    yeah they seem to be.

Here's a quote from another article about it

    https://www.loudersound.com/news/pur...um-in-10-years

The duo say in a statement: “We stuck to our manifesto of no musical boundaries and the result was Eupnea.
“We return to a more progressive sound with ferocious guitars, thunderous drums and the stacked harmonies that give us our signature sound. We're excited to begin playing it live.”

Oh man, this is going to be nasty. Luv the rhythm section here, the drums just keep driving.

Good tune! Very "Dark Third" vibe.

Who else is in the band?

Why is the digipak more expensive than the jewelcase? Is there additional content?

Jewel case is domestic version. Digipak is the import. I believe the tracks are the same.

A bit surprised by the "Silent Genesis" track embed above. I was never a fan of this band, and thought their Nearfest set was mediocre, but this is pretty good.

A lot of people were let down by their NEARfest performance, but I still think that The Dark Third is a great album, and if they can return to that form, this too, could be a great album.

I liked their 2nd album too much not as much as Dark Third. Never heard their 3rd.

"Dark Third" was a masterpiece IMO, but each album after that went downhill. The 3rd album had a few good tracks, but overall I did not really care for it.

This arrived this morning. On first spin I would say...this is an absolute chuffing MASTERPIECE. They switch from ethereal, dreamy passages into really dynamic, often brutal, sections in the blink of an eye, but it is completely seamless. I can confirm that this release is very much a return to The Dark Third style. It is gloriously disorientating, veering from dream pop into Floyd-like soundscapes, then dropping into a metallic riff that Metallica would be proud of. I can't remember the last time an album grabbed me so completely on first listen. You need this album in your lives!
