I am really enjoying this. Additional listens reveal greater layers of depth.

    Metal?

I listened to several samples on YouTube. There is not an ounce of metal in the whole thing. There may be some hard-edged elements from time to time - but Pure Reason Revolution is clearly not metal! (To my metal-head ears, anyway )

I found that comment a bit odd too. There are some heavy parts, but nothing metal to my ears at least.

So I don't personally view this album as "the great return to form" others do.
Agree. Few good songs but that’s about it.

Whatever you think of the quality of the albums in question, I entirely get the marketing in that this is stylistically a follow-up to The Dark Third, whereas Hammer and Anvil sounds like a different band.

I'm enjoying it. Personally, I much prefer it to Hammer or Amor Vincit Omnia.

Not sure where I discovered this band, probably a Spotify playlist. Cool stuff. I hear little elements of industrial rock that take me back to the 90s. I just ordered Eupnea and the re-issue of Dark Third from Laser's Edge.

Man... I picked up The Dark Third in a local Barnes & Noble back in 2006, just based on the word on the street (or more accurately, on the Genesis discussion forums). I may have to grab this reissue though, since it's got "In Aurelia" on the bonus disc and that's a really cool song.
