Ceccaldi's Amanda Dakota again last night. This, this is what I want.

Agree w/you Richard!.
With "Azufre" (2015), their last one, Akineton's sound changes mainly because they leave behind the "jazz-rock and avant-garde" a bit and present a new proposal focused on "afrobeat and calypso" or their daily musical environment; however, Akinetón Retard is always an interesting band to follow and explore IMO!.
And talking about how to describe their music/universe, I like this one taken from their FB:
- "Electroacoustic Avant-free rock fascist-communist spontaneous clowny ensemble" -.

I've been listening to several singles that have been released before their next album and I'm interested enough.

I've been listening lots of News From Babel lately. Lindsay Cooper was such a original composer.

Amazing pic! Cooper in a skirt and knitty jumper pumpin' that 'ssoon like a "proper" Britlady… Or not.
Music for Other Occasions from '85 exposes all of her assets and, together with the Babel-work and Rags (plus obviously side 2 of Western Culture), remains her finest stab at anything rock. IMO.

New tracks from Aksak Maboul, and double LP to come in May:

This was probably known, but if so I missed it or forgot.
Hello Folks ~
Speaking of Akineton Retard... Had the very fine experience in seeing them live some years ago here stateside. Prog festival in California?, maybe over in Mexicali?? Hahahaah I do not remember BUT I still have 'Akarnania' in my collection. They must've impressed me!
The particulars are getting foggier!

That Zut Un Feu Rouge reunion record from last year is awe-inspiring. Folx don't make 'pronk' like this anymore, and how could they?

Anyone come across the group A Light Sleeper? I found them via someone I follow on Bandcamp, it's some excellent material:

Any time any one speaks to me about any musical project, the one absolute given is "it will not make big money". [tip of the hat to HK]

please add 'imo' wherever you like, to avoid offending those easily offended.

Scrolling through the SZamla catalog tonight. They should have ruled the world. I mean, the sheer melodic joy and vitality of it.
