What about the players involved? Will there be discipline against them?

From what I heard this morning, there will be no discipline for the players. The reason being, there would most likely have to be evidence/proof provided for each individual player. At least that is what the pundits think the players union would demand.

Roger Goodell would have thrown the players under the bus rather than embarrass one of his beloved owners.

First, can people temper their langauge? - whacked used as a verb can mean murdered.

I don't object to people using their own regional slang.

There's definitely going to be another shoe to drop and it will drop in Boston.

There's always been sign stealing, and it'll continue after the dust clears. I wonder what new ways of doing it they'll come up with after this?

It will go back to the runner on second base trying to communicate to the guy at home plate.

Battle tech with tech. Give the catcher a headset and the pitcher an earpiece (for example). Why should it be allowed to continue in any form?

I didn't say it should be allowed to continue--just that it will.

Sign stealing is part of the game when done within the rules. When a runner gets on second, the battery switches signs. It's not that difficult to combat.

Yeah, I know. I was just posing the thought.

IMO - the Astros as an organization got off light.

Crane gave the code red to his organization to do anything to win a title; they did; they get whacked and all Crane oses is some pocket change and a couple of picks they would have traded away for midseason pickups.

He should have been banned from the game for two years ala King George. Its called Institutional Control.

Cora is going to be gone in Boston.

Your sentiments are apparently shared around the league...

The trouble for the Astros is that they have bargained away a lot of draft picks over the last couple years and now they have next to nothing. Soon they'll start bleeding free agents. It will be a steep and swift decline.

CHB* Says they should show Cora the door but they seem to be unlikely to do so. From what I've been hearing, most of the callers on the Boston sports radio stations are pro-firing.

Yikes. Four years. A bit of a gamble, but it does seem that clubs are conceding great risk in the second halves of these contracts.

No wonder the Orioles had such bad seasons the past two years.

A gamble but what they're likely thinking is he's got two more years at 3rd base, tops. Then they move him to DH, which will be vacated by the likely retired Nelly Cruz. Twinks have three hotshot infielders a couple years away in the minors. It.Could.Work.
