Lucy in Blue (Icelandic prog/psych) on KEXP

KEXP just posted a telecast of this relatively young, relatively new band. They sound quite a bit like Floyd to my ears, with an occasional detour into early Crimson territory - lots of (sampled) Tron, guitar mixing Fripp and Gilmour, solid but low-keyed rhythm section, Floyd-ish vocal harmonies

Nice, I like their sound. Solid reviews on Prog Archives where they are described as blending Floyd, Crimson and Camel as major influences. Gnosis not quite as excited, however too small a sampling size to judge (only 3 ratings for both albums in total). I am sure some critics will consider them too derivative, especially with the Floydian textures being so prevalent. I think it is worth pursuing further. Thanks for the post and alert for this Icelandic band.

The only thing that separates them from success is a clear statement of how much they hate prog-rock and that they have absolutely no influences from prog-rock bands.

Thanks for posting the heads up!

I listened to each of the videos and quite enjoyed each one. Seems as if they would certainly satisfy a listening interest for THAT type of music... when it hits me. Yeah PFloyd, PTree/SW influences there for sure. One thought I did have while listening : perhaps a wee bit too close to 'plodding' for my ears at times!

    On my list they go
    Carry On

I have both their albums and love them dearly.
