You might think it's Yes, but they've got nothing on the Enid. I've lost count of the number of musicians who have worn the Enid T-Shirt. Any other nominations?

According to wiki, 34 from the Enid. Two bands that came to my mind are Mostly Autumn (23) and Big Big Train (16). Counts all come from wikipedia.
Zappa would outdo the Enid by far if you count all the musicians who have played on his albums. Even just considering the various incarnations of the Mothers there were about 30 musicians.
^ Both Gong and Magma have had more members than all of those mentioned combined except for Zappa.

I would put my Money on Hawkwind, roughly counting I think I could name 44 members.
(I think there are more...)
Zappa is a very good guess too (I not fully aware of his army of musicans)
Magma - about 61 according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magma_(band)#Members
and I know some are missing.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
Looked at a Zappa musicians list and counted 43 and that just were letters A and B
P.S. counted roughly and ended up with about 320!

If I counted correctly, Centipede had 55 members when they recorded Septober Energy.
Rainbow must have had a few?

It only feels like Yes had had 61 members...
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...
Of course it depends on how you define 'member'. If you saw Big Big Train lined up at the end of their recent shows, you'd think there are a hell of a lot of them, but I recall reading in Prog not so long ago that only Greg Spawton and David Longdon are full time with the rest being brought in as and when they are needed
& Magma have just fired three current members so on it goes.

Tull had 23 members and another 17 listed as "guest musicians" who appeared on various tours.

Weather Report went through 30 members in its 16 years of existence. One imagines if it continued, it would be up there.
And apparently hired three more.
I'm not lazy. I just work so fast I'm always done.
Centipede, I believe. Though not entirely a prog band.
What, exactly, constitutes a "member" of a band? If a band has a guest guitarist on one track, is that guest considered a "member"?
I wasn't thinking of guest musicians but rather people who contribute to most or all of the tracks in one way or another on at least one album. But this thread throws up more complications than I originally envisaged ................
