    RIP Rene Auberjonois

Many will remember him as Odo from Star Trek Deep Space Nine. He died at age 79.

    Rest in peace.
Can this be the swan song? The final elbow?

great actor.... i just learned his grand father was a famous artist.
comedy, drama, science fiction, etc he's done it all.
i always remember him as Father Mulcahy in the movie MASH.
only a recent viewer of Deep Space 9, but his character carried that show for 7 seasons.
great in Benson, Murder She Wrote, etc...

William Christopher was great in the TV series, but Rene was the quintessential Father Mulcahy.

Sad to hear this. One of the most crucial elements of the first four ST series was the instilling of humanity into a non-human character. Spock, Data, Seven of Nine; and Auberjonois' Odo was the equal of any of them.

The second DS9 actor to die this year. He's joined the Great Link.

He also ended up on at least one David E. Kelley series, as did many other Star Trek alumni.

I love DS9 and Odo especially.

    this one does hurt.

It's odd even watching the reruns with my wife now on Heroes & Icons.
