Always enjoyed this man's art and vision. Rest in peace, Gahan Wilson.
Can this be the swan song? The final elbow?

He'd been suffering dementia for a while, and apparently his cartoons didn't pay enough for his treatment - his family had to start a gofundme or some such.

I treasure a copy of Nuts, a collection of his strips about "The Kid" from NatLamp.

I used to love this guy's comics.

Haven't though of him for years. Time to break out my old collection.
And if there were a god, I think it very unlikely that he would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence - Russell

I recall seeing his stuff in Playboy when I was a kid (when I was reading the articles, of course....lol)

    It was creepy but cool...

My first awareness wasn't through Playboy or any other magazine, but rather through the story he wrote/illustrated for Harlan Ellison's Again, Dangerous Visions anthology. Usually referred to as "Inksplot" it was one of the most imaginative things I had ever seen (I was in my early teens at the time). While the cartoonists that eventually impacted me more were B. Kliban and Gary Larson, they were both in all likelihood influenced by Wilson. A most creative voice indeed.

Happy with what I have to be happy with.
