Oh god I really hope this is actually good and not just a list of names.
Peter Banks was one of the finest prog guitarists and has made some crazy sounds and textures using his guitar.
Not too familiar with David Cross so this would be my introduction.

Will keep my eyes peeled for more on this.

Cross released an album a few years ago called Starless Starlight which is his violin over a series of soundscapes Robert Fripp did with the song Starless as a point of origin that is quite lovely. Beautiful.
Perhaps finding the happy medium is harder than we know.

Cross has done a couple of collaborations recently that I would guess will be in a similar style, both of which are great: David Cross and David Jackson's Another Day; and David Cross and Andrew Booker's Ends Meeting. Ends Meeting is almost a companion piece: Booker and Banks were both in Harmony in Diversity, who toured with Cross's band, so he ended up doing improv sessions with both.

Henry do you know if there are any plans to release audio samples or a trailer on YouTube? something to give fans an idea of what it sounds like before spending their cash would be nice.

Ends Meeting was quite nice. Another Day did not do much for me.

Memos isn't bad. Exiles is even better, and made me completely re-evaluate Cross' abilities as a violinist. It also includes great guest appearances by Wetton, Fripp and Peter Hammill.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
