Thanks for sharing your highs&lows of collaborating with others.
I think the collabs you've been doing with the same group of people have been turning out quite good, and the more you do it, the familiarity with the personalities will hopefully become easier.

I guess it boils down to whether the irritating times are bad enough to consider not collaborating anymore or not.(BOB picks up his Hammond B3, packs it in the car and heads home)lol
Or, in spite of it all, the final product makes it all worth it.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! Here is this year's Christmas song that my wife and I put together for our friends and family in lieu of greeting cards. It's an old chestnut from the Charlie Brown Christmas special. Hope you like it!

What a great song to choose, especially after another strange year. So happy and uplifting, thank you.

As usual your production and arrangement is A++++, and I always enjoy your wife and your harmony together.

I'm not sure what you were going for, but the song sounds like it's playing at the wrong speed, especially in the intro with the guitar.
I still enjoyed it, but it does throw the listener off balance a bit.
Would love to hear what you did to get this sound.

Thanks for the feedback, Richard. I see what you mean. They are basically brush samples. They do seem to drag the tune a bit. I'll have to see if I can tweak them or use a different percussion sound.

I think the lower tuning on the guitar threw me off a bit, but the more I listen I'm liking your smoky jazz club version.

I'd never heard this song arranged for guitar and it works really well with that instrument. The harmonies are lovely in a very subtle way and I love the tasteful jazzy little solo that starts around 1:30.

Love the way you're using the mellotron, and what already sounds like horns and the way your guitar blends in with the rest of the instruments.

What I tend to do is pop my demos onto soundclick with a view to refining them later for my official Bandcamp release if I have one planned.I find it easier by far to work on concept works as it provides the framework for subsequent pieces. I still don't have any idea what that may involve but I am sure someone or something will come along soon to rattle my cage.
It's a luxury I may not have if I eventually manage to get back to the Canary Islands, where I will have to get back to my Latin jazzy stuff to help in the financial dept.
I have to say I way prefer doing music for non monetary reasons. Tee hee

Clivey -- I appreciate how many interesting and unexpected turns of phrase are in the lyric, especially "you're making a drive-by shooting at my heart" and the line about "all the stupid shit they say." And the lyric "everybody wants to feel special and nobody wants to feel like someone else's peer" is perceptive, I think, and phrased in an original way. I don't know if this is the final lyric but there's some thoughtful and creative writing going on there. Also agree with Richard's comments about the heartfelt vocal.
