Hey, Hey! The daily line ups ( not the hourly, yet ) have been announced.
The Necks have 2 performances, must see at least one.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

CHEER-ACCIDENT are playing The Pilot Light on Saturday March 28th for the festival, according to this February CHEER-AX subscriber email. Very cool.

Wife and I bought our tickets a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait.

This makes me so happy! While I think they deserve to be top of the bill at the Bijou or TN Theatre, the Pilot Light is familiar territory. Every time Big Ears posts asking who we'd like to see next year, etc., C-A is always at the top of my list. Can't believe it's actually happening!

Damo Suzuki being backed by Ceramic Dog is about the unlikely-est pairing I can imagine:

"Damo Suzuki vs. Ceramic Dog. Best known for his work with the pioneering German group Can, Damo Suzuki is a vocalist and fearless improvisor whose creative wanderlust has taken him around the world, performing with a dizzying variety of collaborators. At Big Ears, Suzuki throws down for the first time with Ceramic Dog, guitarist Marc Ribot’s agit punk trio with bassist Shazhad Ismaily and drummer Ches Smith."

Sounds interesting. I saw Ceramic Dog a while back and found it an enjoyable challenge.

I didn't really enjoy Ceramic Dog when they played last time but I'll probably check this out unless there is a conflict.

I assume anyone interested got this email, but just in case: https://bigearsfestival.org/a-statem...-and-covid-19/

With opening day for Big Ears still two and a half weeks from now, we are continuing with our preparation and planning to produce the festival as scheduled.

The safety of festival attendees is our top priority and we will make prudent and thoughtful decisions as the situation develops. We will, of course, follow the guidance of health professionals and public officials. We believe that all decisions related to producing the festival should be rooted in facts, not fear.

None of our festival attendees – according to our ticketing data – are traveling from countries where there are travel restrictions in place. We also know of no plans to cancel any of the public events scheduled throughout our region – theme park openings, arena concerts, sporting events of all kinds, and other concerts.

The standard industry policy is that tickets are not refundable unless an event is canceled. However, we recognize that this is an exceptional situation, and we do not want any one taking risks that would endanger their own health or that of others, so we will be discussing how we might modify this policy appropriately in the next few days.

Caterina Barbieri (modular synth) has announced she won't be at Big Ears because of the lockdown in Italy(her home).

    Bummer.

Thundercat is one of the best bassists in the world. If you are going to this festival, make sure to see him.
Also, if you like Frank Zappa & Return to Forever...!

I've got a few conflicts but not as many as I expected. Starebaby is the midnight slot so I'd better be ready for some serious coffee that evening.

I saw Winged Victory for the Sullen a few Big Ears back...they were good but if I have a choice I'll probably go with Thundercat since I've seen the former already.

For the Necks...I'm going to do the Fred Lane thing for sure but I've already seen Claudia Quintet so maybe I'll aim for their Sunday spot
