Klone - Le Grand Voyage (new Kscope signing)

For those of you who follow new releases from the Kscope label, you might be interested in their latest signing, French band Klone.

The band have twenty years mileage and five albums behind them, but this is their first for Kscope, presumably to reach a wider audience. Some of the promo has tagged them as progressive metal, but the music leans more towards the ambient and moody side of things, and fits in snugly with the broad sound and vibe of the Kscope roster.

I hadn't heard the band before, so it was cool just to unwrap the sellophane, stick the cd in, and venture into unknown territory, and fifty minutes later I was sold on the band. I've been playing the album continuously since then.

Here's my blog review which might be of interest, especially if you enjoy bands like Riverside or Katatonia.

Yes, excellent album! Their last one "Here Comes the Sun" is also great, and in a very similar style.

Indeed this is a beautiful album. They've shed most of their metal roots, and are now in the realm of the ambient side of Devin Townsend and Riverside.

If you want to know more, here's a review of it:
