    Hi PE friends,

There's much to update you on from here in D97land. We're delighted that our new release Screens will be out 10/4/19 in Europe/UK and 10/11/19 in the rest of the world via Cherry Red Records. You can order it now at http://www.district97.net/news/screens-now-available. For the audiophiles among you, definitely check out the 24/48 hi-res download.

If you're in the UK/Europe/Chicago, you can experience Screens live starting on 9/30. We'll be teaming up with great bands like Flying Colors, Maschine, and IO EARTH. Tour dates/tickets are at http://www.district97.net/shows. Check out the Tour Trailer for a taste of what's in store:

Look out for a new music video and lots more coming soon. If you've heard Screens already, feel free to post your thoughts in this thread (and elsewhere!).

I have had the album for a while now, and it is really good. Especially like the closing track "Ghost Girl".

I really like what Andrew and Tim have done to the District 97 sound, which is not a criticism of Rob and Patrick. But, Bread and Yarn becomes a whole different song with the addition of the Tim/Andrew outro. I love it and it's probably my favorite part of the whole record.

Well, we were supposed to be off to Berlin today, but our flight was mysteriously cancelled. So, we're leaving tomorrow instead, and unfortunately that show is cancelled. All other shows are happening though, so hope to see many of you these next few weeks! http://www.district97.net/shows

So this is just about the coolest news ever....Bill Bruford just mentioned us in Rolling Stone! Read the full piece at https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...rview-902501//

"There’s a great band out of Chicago called District 97, who are very good, and they’re here in the U.K. right now. And you know, it’s the next generation of so-called progressive guys who played much better than we ever played."

What are PE folks thinking of Screens so far?

I'm glad Bill said this. I'm not brave enough to say it, but I agree with it. That's not disrespect; it's respect to those who created the road that this generation goes down.

Limited-time free stream on progstreaming. No excuse not to check it out: http://progstreaming.nl/pages/play-a...%20-%20Screens

While everyone has their favorites, at least listen to Bread&Yarn and Ghost Girl. Those get a lot of comments going in the fan forums.

I'm still digesting it. It's always interesting to see where you guys will go and now with the new members in tow. How did the tour go?

The tour got off to a bumpy logistical starts (cancelled/delayed/rerouted flights and lost luggage), but aside from that we and the audiences had a great time! Did any PE folks make it out to a show?

It's definitely been growing on me. First listen, I thought it was OK, but it didn't grab me as immediately as Trouble with Machines did. But we're on our 4th/5th spin now, and I'm definitely finding more and more that draws me in. At this point, it's probably my second favorite of yours after Trouble, which I really love. I'm going to take it in the car with me for a close spin on Tuesday night.

My wife liked Screens a lot from day one, and is now really digging Ghost Girl, as am I. So overall, thumbs up from us!

    Bill

Screens turned a month old yesterday, and we hope you're enjoying it. If you're in the Chicagoland-area, come celebrate the album this Wednesday, 11/13 at our final show of the decade: the SCREENS CD RELEASE SHOW! Expect to hear the entire album played live front to back, something we're not sure will be happening again. D97 will take the stage at 9, but make sure you're there by 8 for Elysian Green, and stay after for Kamikazee Vigilante. These are two young and exciting bands you won't want to miss. Get tix at http://martyrslive.com/wed-nov-13-8p...RysBrxnzPgvZBo. Any PE folks going?

If you've been waiting to pick this up, now's a great time, because we've just launched the SCREENSGIVING sale at http://www.district97.net/news/screensgiving-sale. From now through Sunday, 12/1, all copies of Screens ordered from our Online Store will come autographed by the whole band for free!

We just released a new video from this album, and we think it's quite apropos. In 10 years time, how do you think you'll look back at Spring 2020?

Nicely done! My favorite track on the new album! Did not register that was a bass solo at the end until I saw this, very cool! Was going to see you in Salem, MA I think this month, but obviously that's not happening. Hope you can swing out this way when possible.

Hard to say. It will take about that amount of time to get some kind of perspective on it. And it will depend on how the coming months unfold, which is still very much up in the air.

I don't think there's any doubt about it. 10 years or 50, 2020 will be remembered as the Year Of The Coronavirus, or Year Of The Pandemic. Take your pick.
