That Greaves album is one of my all-time favorites: loaded with amazing songs, wonderful performances and it's beautifully produced and recorded. Robert Wyatt is of course wonderful on "The Song". Love it.

Not prog but the Who's version of Summertime Blues
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)

Genesis' 'Inside and Out' talks about 'see the summer going out by the door', and in fact the whole of Wind and Wuthering, at least for me, has a feel of summer transitioning to fall, very scenic.

I suppose this is an overtly obvious selection.

^ He's got more than just this one identity running right now.

Strategy seems to be that people will cease to take note or bother if he simply stays put, keeps on and eventually tires them out by constantly inventing new identities sporting geographical mock-origins. I'd dare say it's a question of pathology; the guy couldn't quit even if he wanted to - he keeps going as a point of challenge to potentially hostile surroundings. The fanciful thing is that his signature mark is squarely discernable and essentially indicates a level of self-insight way below the fellow average. Very sad sight, really.

    Oh, well.

To me early-mid period Steely Dan often has a summer-into-fall/start-of-school vibe going on. Some Camel also gets me in that mood.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

And I second "Autumn" by the Strawbs.

Autumn album, pure autumn. Not one note of summer to be found!

I always felt Wind & Wuthering was more of a late fall into early winter theme. The cover seems to reinforce that. YMMV

There’s also this version of that John Greaves song that’s worthwhile:

Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883...
