    I would think...

    "Hip Hug-Her" - Booker T. & The MGs
"The New Breed (Parts 1 & 2)" - Ike Turner
"A Wade in the Water" - Harvey Mandel
"Rumble" - Link Wray & the Wraymen
    "Batman Theme" - Nelson Riddle
    "Cissy Strut" - The Meters

...to name a but a few more.
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.

They appeared on one of the Beach Blanket Bingo movies playing in Von Zipper's club. I seem to recall their heads were shaved - which was unusual for the time. And one did a flip off the stage into the audience.

    .............

My first record-collecting as a kid was 45s, mainly instrumentals.
the Marketts were my fav - "Outer Limits","Vanishing Point","Aurora Borealis"

Looking in my ancient 45 carry-box:
    Astronauts - baja
    Neil Hefti - batman chase
    Morty Craft - alone
Vic Mizzy - Addams Family/Kentucky Jones
    Ventures - walk don't run '64
    Johnny Rivers - Un-square dance
    Al Hurt - java
Pete Drake -forever/sleepwalk (look up the youtube!!!)

    Brilliant instrumental followed by talking:

Or, here's a longer version without the talking:

    Music composed by Ron Grainer.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

I seem to recall we did a thread awhile back on instrumental rock n roll, to which I made one of my epic list posts. A few that I would add here (sorry if I'm repeating that's already been named):

    Link Wray: Jack The Ripper
    The Bel Airs: Mr. Moto
Jeff Beck: Beck's Bolero, Definitely Maybe, I Can't Give Back The Love I Feel For You
    The Who: The Ox, Sparks
Deep Purple: Wring That Neck, ...And The Address
ELO: Fire On High, Hall Of The Mountain King
The Eagles: Journey Of The Sorcerer
The Allman Brothers Band: Jessica, Les Brers In A Minor, High Falls, Pegasus
    Chicago: Liberation, Elegy
Genesis: After The Ordeal, Los Endos, Unquiet Slumbers/In That Quiet Earth
The Ventures: take your pick, pretty much everything they did in the 60's was awesome!
Van Der Graaf Generator: Theme One

    As far theme music goes:
    Barney Miller
The Rockford Files (this one was actually released as a single)
The Bill Cosby Show (the late 60's one)
The Bob Newhart Show (the 70's era one)
The Big Country (early 60's western, which Yes hijacked on their version of No Opportunity Needed, No Experience Needed)
    The Big Valley
    Bonanza
The Good The Bad And The Ugly (personally I prefer the Hugo Montengro version)
The "disco" arrangement of the five note "greeting" motif from Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (I'm not joking, John Williams actually did a disco recording where he stretched those five notes out into a 3 minute piece of music)
Meco's version of the Star Wars theme (if we could count 1980 as being part of the 70's, I would also mention his arrangement of the Imperial March and Yoda's theme, which was released as a medley)
    The Munsters
    The Tomorrow People

I know there's other stuff, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

Dave Allen At Large had a great Hammond organ theme, I think played by Hawkshaw.

Whenever I find myself walking down a long corridor, this tune pops into my head. And now that I've mentioned it, it can start happening to you.

CBS Sports used the middle section with the guitar riff as their theme.
Later, they used a recording of ELP's arrangement of Fanfare for the Common Man that sounded just like ELP, but apparently was not by them.
