A Light Sleeper - excellent avant/chamber rock from US

Another great 2019 release, which seems to get unnoticed (but this will change after my titanic efforts to enlighten the world with quality music). Viola, Cello and Clarinet/Saxes along with drums and electric guitar constitute the arsenal of this magnificent quintet: at times melodic and dreamy, at times straightforward and aggressive, complex yet perfectly accessible to the less initiated listeners in the delights of avant prog - this is just an excellent, fresh record full of reward and promise.

Excellent band. Saw them at a house concert in Chicago and it was a blast. Will definitely check this out. Unfortunately, for some, it might be a 'non-real release', though...

Love this release. Its chamber rock allright but with a distinct own feel.

Some parts sometimes remind me a bit of Reve General. Whatever happened to that band?

It was an international ensemble and the money was not there for them to do rehearsals or shows regularly. They rehearsed and did the show that was the album and then they played a record release show at RIO, which I saw and which was great.

But there's no funding for anything ambitious like this so for now, it is on hold.
