I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
Wonder what this means.
My understanding is that Mike Patton and Trey Spruance made up a while ago, and are on good terms now. But Trevor Dunn, who's been building a busy career as a first call jazz/avant bassist in NYC for quite a few years, doesn't want to live in the past and absolutely won't do it; I think he may have also had a falling out with Spruance. And those three guys are essential; they wrote almost all of the material, and without them it isn't really Mr. Bungle. Any of Bar McKinnon, Theo Lengyel, and Danny Heifetz would be good, but they're not quite as important.
According to this Trevor is on board -

^Oh man, that is excellent news.
Let’s hope this thing gets recorded and filmed.

I dunno. I sorta felt that they'd already said what they had to say - and that was interesting but somewhat conclusive.
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
But I don't think Easter Bunny was ever properly said. There is good music in there, and I think it is still music that deserves to be heard by new ears in a new light in 2020.
Plus it's difficult for me to imagine that Spruance and Dunn would be content to simply revisit without revision. (Patton may have proved otherwise with the FNM reunion which, while highly enjoyable, didn't improve upon or alter the past--though the new album is excellent.)

Nice!
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.
"And it's only the giving
That makes you what you are" - Ian Anderson
Cool. Probably won't be coming near me, but I'm glad the band is back together.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.
Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.
I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.
I am definitely in, all things being still equal in Feb 2020.
Lombardo on drums??!
Death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit
It will probably be expensive but I'm tempted to head down to NYC.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

I'm tempted to head UP to NYC. Threw the possibility by Charlie (friend/big fan) to see if he's game for a roadtrip.

Guess I'll have to wait for a video of the shows.

What's funny is I was just looking at a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder on Reverb about 10 minutes before I read this thread. Still had the tab open, but now it's closed. For good.
Lombardo is a beast. Portnoy would have been a better choice but whatever. I'm sad this isn't coming to Ohio.

Sounds logical, Portnoy is rarely the better choice.

*quietly deletes draft post suggesting Phil Collins could have done it...*

Presale tix for Brooklyn long gone yesterday. Hoping I can score a pair today, although it's AXS handling the tickets and they give me hives.
Understood on the points above regarding the point to it all (revision vs. repeat). This is one where I'm OK admitting it's just because I'd love to see them regardless.
