RIP Ian Gibbons of The Kinks

Age 67- a fine musician and by all accounts a very nice guy. Also known for his work with Roger Chapman and Ian Hunter, among others. Raise a glass to Ian Gibbons. Here he is in action with the band.

    Rest in peace, Ian.
Can this be the swan song? The final elbow?

He had been in the short-lived band Life, who recorded one album (Life After Death) for Polydor in 1974. Produced by ex-Zombie Chris White, it had a sound that rather reminded me of Argent:

R.I.P., Ian, and thanks for the music!

The one time I got to see The Kinks was with Ian in the band. He was a very good keyboard player.

Pretty interesting, Jim Rodford was in Argent at the time, Both Rodford and Gibbons end up in The Kinks, later Rodford ends up a member of The Zombies and tours with Chris White.

Argent's drummer Bob Henrit also joined the Kinks in the 80's when Mick Avory retired.
