Oxygène 4 in the Jarre studio-pipe?

Some say it's leaked files. But I personally doubt that Jarre goes back to his roots. Opinions?

I highly doubt it, given he did Oxy 3 so recently. Plus, this sounds so close to the original that I can't help but think it's one of those "library music" things, where companies make knock-offs of certain composers so you can get "Jarre-like" music in your documentary for 1% of the cost of an actual Jarre tune.

plus, everyone knows Magnetic Fields II will be his next album

How about Sessions 2020. I really enjoyed Sessions 2000, but never heard anyone talking about it.

    It was low-hanging fruit. Sorry!

Seriously, though... people should check this one out if they're not familiar with it. It's unlike anything else he's done.

Let's just hope whatever it is, it doesn't come from another of his pipes.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did an Oxygene 4. It would probably sound something like Oxygene 3 though, not like the original.

Then he should title it Oxygene 3.14 and let someone pie his face (but cover the equipment first).

So far for a new Oxygene album. I knew it. Too good to be true.

You're listening to Ava Felsenstein, a German composer who does Jarre-inspired music. This album is called Hydrolux (or Hydrolux Abyss). You can find it here on Bandcamp: https://avafelsenstein.bandcamp.com/album/hydrolux
Whoever put the Oxygene 4 cover on the video was just yanking your chain.

Too bad. The prospect of an Oxygène 4 had me imagining a competition between J-M Jarre and Mike Oldfield to see who could recycle their debut more times.

Felsenstein's "tribute" to Jarre does a remarkable job of recreating the synthesizer sounds from his early albums. The constructs are a bit fuzzier and softer than Jarre's -- like the gentler sections of his albums, as one reviewer pointed out. So "Hydrolux" doesn't quite stand as a new or lost JMJ album.... more like an asterisk -- but I'm still filing it under Jarre (because I'll never remember Felsenstein's name).

It's annoying that Felsenstein has chosen to post the music the way he has on Bandcamp -- full length tracks right alongside 2/3 length "previews." He's also posted 23 minutes of Hydrolux remixes -- but in "preview" form only, one long 23-minute track of about ten 2 minute excerpts that fade out unexpectedly.

A few more minutes organization on his part would've made the experience a lot more rewarding.

Hhh!!!... Oxygene is not JM's debut, but the third under his name

Actually this fake O2.4 sounds much better than the O2.2 (if memory serves - only borrowed them thru the library) or O2.3 (onmly heard glimpses), but TBH, I rather liked his Equinoxe 2 - Infinity (I think) of a couple of years ago.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of those two earlier releases. However, since one of them is a collection of library music, and the other is a film soundtrack, I would still consider Oxygène to be Jarre's first proper album.

They're instantly forgettable -- unlike Oxygene.

I guess the reason for that is he (she?) promotes the cd with the previews.

Hahahaha.. No more Oxygene's for me. I still prefer the original one. A new JMJ album would be nice though with completely new Music...
