    New Nad Sylvan album

Just had my first listen to Nad's "Regal Bastard". Nad serves up another slab of primo symph, surrounded by illustrious guests (NDV, Jonas, Tony Levin, Hackett, Guthrie Govan et als.) I can't quite grasp the "trilogy" concept but I've enjoyed all of Nad's work, going back to Unifaun and Agents of Mercy (who I was fortunate enough to see live twice), and have seen him multiple times with Hackett.

Of special note, the album's beautiful closer is this track:

composed by our own Andrew Laitres (The Winter Tree). In the liner notes, Nad speaks of having fallen in love with the track and asked Andrew if he could use it here. Nice work Andrew, you should be kvelling! Nad's not great at geography, however, telling us Andrew is from Canada and recorded this in Brattleboro VT Canada!

    Anyway, loved my first listen!

Thanks Rick, hope all is well with you.
I wouldn't mind if Vermont joined Canada ;-)

Here's a new interview with Nad about the album and beyond. It's a great album, lots of choice guest musicians.
