I think there's a valid argument that the highpoints of Moving Waves and Focus III are higher, but this seems a more even album overall.

That clip was for a BBC In Concert. They were a popular band in the UK and made various TV/radio appearances here- Live At The Rainbow was actually broadcast by the BBC on TV show The Old Grey Whistle Test. This is the show perceived to have launched them in the UK after a studio performance of 'Hocus Pocus'.

Hamburger Concerto could be worse but it has too much velveeta in it. Moving Waves holds up a lot better imo. This track along w/ Sneezing Bull from the often maligned Con Proby record (which is far from being a consistent album) are less cringeworthy than most of HC.

After giving all three a spin over the past few days, I think this is where I come down as well. There's not much on Hamburger that I don't like, whereas there's some from both the other albums that I think could easily be trimmed; though they have wonderful high points as well.

Me too. I dig Moving Waves and 3 too, but there's something about HC that makes it really stand out for me.

That live performance was remarkably true to the studio version.

    Great video.
Meh, I don't think that one's so great.
