    Synth-Wave on tour in June

    More guilty pleasure stuff.

FM-84 and The Midnight are both on tour in June. Both artists are highly influenced by the Synth-Pop/Synth-Wave of the early-mid 80s. For those who like such music, it should be a fun (and relatively cheap) night out.

I wasn't aware about a buzz around The Midnight, but it appears more than a few shows are already sold out.

I saw The Midnight earlier this year in Baltimore and loved it to death. Already have tickets to see them in Richmond

Would love to catch FM-84 but nothing is that close to me.

Also on tour, and might be worth considering if you like these guys, is Timecop1983: http://timecop1983.com/tour-dates/
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

^ Nowhere even remotely close to me on that one, but I will check the artist out, thanks.

If you like The Midnight, the last Timecop1983 full length 'Night Drive' is an easy suggestion. The Midnight's singer even guests on the opening track.

    So....meant to check back in:

Timecop1983 was...a bit meh for me. Too much like a DJ act (as opposed to Midnight who perform more like an actual band with singer/guitar/sax/keys/synth drums), especially with all the vocals done with backing tracks. But one of the openers, a Philly local act called Korine, was really great especially for fans of a more new wave kind of sound.

Seeing Street Cleaner later this fall for the first time; I'm expecting something that will again be closer to a DJ performance but since the music is instrumental...it won't bug me too much.

Drab Majesty is out on the road right now and they're super fun live, again with a slight leaning toward new wave. If you get a chance, see them.

The Midnight is tonight (the band, not the time of day) in Richmond. Very excited...

...so, The Midnight is flat-out amazing live. This show was actually even better than the last one; they've fleshed out the band to include a 2nd female guitarist/singer and a new sax/keys dude. The addition of the female singer also means they can do tunes like "Jason." They did a solid set covering most of Days of Thunder plus solid helpings from Kids + Endless Summer, a track from Nocturnal, and two new tunes from an album they'll hopefully have finished in 2020.

For my money, these guys and Carpenter Brut are the best live synthwave acts around ATM (Com Truise and Dance with the Dead tied as close 2nds tho). If you like what they do and they are coming close, see them.
