Minimalist avant-pop alt-folk ensemble (as they describe themselves) Firefly Burning have just released their third album, Breathe Shallow. I love their two prior albums and welcome the third: it's in a similar style, but with the lyrics perhaps being more personal than on their earlier releases. They've been playing several of these tracks for some months now, so I already love some of them, including the stand-out opener "It Won't Be Long". Tim Friese-Greene produced.
The album is on Bandcamp: https://fireflyburning.bandcamp.com/ The Progressive Aspect reviewed their album launch gig at St Pancras Old Church and I agree with what was written there: http://theprogressiveaspect.net/blog...mantha-whates/ (Well, I was less impressed by the support.) They've also reviewed the album at http://theprogressiveaspect.net/blog...eathe-shallow/ , although I rather disagree with the reviewer on which tracks work. Various samples are in the links.
