I'm going to enjoy this track at a rather lofty volume.
The older I get, the better I was.

Yes, I thought the same when I first heard Mask Machine off the last album. Not a bad thing necessarily, but maybe a little too obvious?

^^ I'm not connecting either, I think I'll be passing on this unless I hear something a bit better. I'm not sure what they can add to the first two albums.

Both of these songs/videos are pretty bad, but the recent one posted is just awful contemporary country dreck.

Hopefully there are some surprises in the remaining songs.

    Good surprises or bad surprises?

I'm trying to be open minded about the new song. Steve Morse's guitar work does elevate it above your average ballad.

I don't think they are bad or derivative. Casey is a "white" blues country artist and it is obvious he wrote the last song. One thing is for sure the man can sing no matter if you like the results or not. People say Muse for the first one but after I hear that comment I spent an hour to two listening to Muse and what I think, if that is Muse related this band has way better command of the musicianship. I like FC very much for one particular reason it is a band my wife and I enjoy equally. They write very good rock material (and who is doing that these days) and they are exceptional players. Sorry you don't like it.

My theory about this band has always been that Casey's mom must make awesome brownies.

They can come to the Keswick theater next month and play cards and I'll be there.

Ha. Totally agree. This band is biggest waste of talented musicians ever. Just in it for the extra cash.

    I'm guessing you've never been a musician?

You don't understand, prog musicians should only be interested in the purity of their pursuits. If they starve, they can starve happily knowing they never compromised their principles.

Love the sarcasm. Too bad FC can't take the time to write better tunes.

I have to agree. Their stuff hasn't done anything for me. I was very interested when I first heard that Steve Morse and Mike Portnoy were putting a new project together. Oh well.

There was enough stuff on their first two albums that I enjoyed, so I’m hoping this one will do the same for me. “Blue Ocean” is a song I still listen to even now.
