If you like Anderson, see this tour, it's fun and the music performances are wonderful. We saw it in a intimate venue, the Capitol Theater which holds around 750 plus. We also saw Hackett there for the Wolflight tour and this concert rates up there with his.
The band is much better than expected, and as one member wrote when I commented my concerns regarding their stage presence and musicianship(before we attended), "don't expect them to sound like Yes".
And that's true, but the interpretation of the songs were done very well, and it was great hearing the same old songs re-interpreted. Same with the new songs..everything sounds great and Jon's voice is strong(except he was fighting a cold that night).
Everyone is having fun and their version of Starship Trooper is one of the best I've ever heard.

I wonder how much of that show he will have to cut down. Casino shows are always shorter (but they pay the performers well).

Hmm, I never thought about that, is that just certain Casinos? I've seen many shows at the Sands in Bethlehem and the shows were always full sets, but if so that would be unfortunate, I seen Jon in April and thought the show was really good and was looking forward to catching another show on the second leg, but i'm not sure i'd want to risk seeing a shorter set.

our show in Clearwater started at 7:30 and ended around 10 with the encores finished. This length include a 20-30 min break in between sets with the second set opening up with about 3 or 4 acoustic type downsized set before going full electric again.
In reflection, all the material was done so well and captivating, I can't think of any songs which should be cut.

It’s pretty standard at casinos. They set the timing of the show (often 90 minutes). For instance, when Yes did that Yes Album/Close to the Edge/ Going for the One tour, Going for the One was dropped at most casino shows for “time restraints”. Perhaps Bethlehem has different contract terms, but shorter shows at the casinos are the rule more than the exception.

Yeah i'm thinking the Sands is one of the exceptions, I haven't been to any shows at any other Casinos but I get the impression most of the Casino venues are theater size, the Sands is a larger venue, I think the capacity is around 3000-3500 and they usually get bigger name headlining acts that probably wouldn't do a shorter show. Yes has played there many times and is opening the tour there this year, it's a larger venue then they usually play these days but it is in the Philly area so they usually sell it out. As for the Jon Anderson show at the Parx Casino, I'll probably hold out to see if any other shows are added in the area, I was surprised they booked the Parx especially since it's so close to the Scottish Rite that he just played at in April, I was figuring a show at the Keswick Theater, my only hope now is maybe the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg which he's played at before and this current tour hasn't been to that area yet
