Yeah that was him, wonder whatever happened to him, we'd never have discovered those bands without him, not sure what happened to the other thousands of suggestions?

Thanks man! Piniol is great, but the latest Ni left me cold. Probably a bit too calculated for my taste.

You just instinctively pulled those links by the 'other' Svetonio out of your hat, did you?

Do you honestly think that by incessantly attempting to alter your apparent identities people won't instantly recognize the tiniest details about who's behind? Is it really THAT important for you to be allowed to stick around here? Is the remaining existence of yours really THAT poor and devoid of fundamental value? Do you perhaps think that if you were only given the chance of a longer stay then certainly readers would see you for the profound resource you obviously see in your own contributions?

Or is the plan simply to make other participants too wary to bother with you?

Same with me. New ni did nothing for me. And yes Bran Cou Cou is magnificent!

The moment starting at around 6:54 on the 1st track is so killer ("Sus la Peria")....I love that disjunct rhythmic counterpoint stuff they do there. It also has some breathing room which is a nice reprieve from the dense craziness. Great band.

Personally I do not care at all about the latest Ni. I never really warmed up to Pinoil as well. They latest Poil however, is fantastic.

Latest Poil is fantastic, Brossakilt is even better IMHO (the gamelan influences always get to me),
Piniol studio album is a missed opportunity (lacking the dynamics of the live show) and Ni leave me cold.
    There, I said it.

Good call - Sus la Peria is my favorite from the album. The use of the moog synthesizer - which sort of replaces the electric guitar - is truly unique and sets the stylistic tone of the album. It's amazing that this kind of complex, dense music comes from a trio, possibly no over-dubs either in the part you're describing. I remember your objections on the Piniol album regarding the lack of breathing space, and you were right about it, yet this last one continues to grow on me in a very weird way, and after tons of listens.

I don't know if being the OP gives me any special say on the matter, but I would really implore people to stay on the topic and on the music. This feels like a very important record to be discussed amidst other, more mundane things. There, I said it, as humbly as I could.

I'd sure as hell want there to be.

Uh, forum drama of sorts? I'm almost afraid to ask.

Anyway, I've been listening to Sus, but it's not clicked with me yet. I don't dislike it, but I'm finding it a lot harder to zero in on its nuances and get swept away like I did with previous albums. It's harder to digest than Dins o Cuol and Brossaklitt by far. Maybe I just need to sit with it in a more reflective space like I did with those two albums; at night in bed when all of my faculties can be dedicated to listening. This certainly isn't suited for busy weekdays when I'm already fatigued.

I think I'm going to do a deep dive on YouTube and really check these guys out. I listened to the "Sus la peira" embed posted above, and thought the last half of the track was really outstanding, and the first half sounded like a visit to the dentist. Just a first impression, as I haven't listened to anything by them heretofore.

    Oh, and @calyx:

    Ian, Friends:
Gave it a couple of spins today and it stays right there on my top 20 … good dosis/mix of twisted-experimental-dark-explosive noise rock, post-metal & avand garde = Ni ()

EDIT: I still haven't totally connected with the PinioiL album....is it me? I greatly respect the playing (and the superyacht amounts of raw energy) but...I dunno...not speaking to me yet. Sad. I still dig the older PoiL albums though bigly.
