Enjoyed Pt.1. Currently enjoying the double live from a few years back that somehow flew under my radar until now.
That double live was amazing! while pt1 was ok (speaking parts were a little off-putting), that Live recording stayed in my home rotation for the longest time. Stellar!

I still need part 1.
In Dutch shops it is still rather expensive. It's cheaper from Amazon Germany. Alas I'm not visiting Germany this year, so I have to order it online.

The same here!!.
“Reincarnation on Stage” (2014) is a great “live effort” IMO and it isn’t a “best of ... live”.
Friends, need some words/advise with these that I don’t have:
- Planets.
- Time to Turn.
- Performance.
- Metromania.
- Codename Wildgeese.
- Destination.
- The Tides Return Forever.
- Ocean II.
- Visionary.
Thanks in advance,
Regards!.

To be honest, I like all of those to some degree, with the exception of Codename: Wildgeese, which is barely an Eloy album at all. And it's not on CD anyway, if that's your preferred method. They each have their moments of Eloy brilliance, although perhaps not as consistent as the classic run of 70s albums.

Must BUY. I got 'em all and this one is no exception!
I think I prefer Tides over the other ones.
I'd rank them
- Planets.
- Time to Turn.
- Destination.
- The Tides Return Forever.
- Performance.
- Metromania.
- Ocean II. (Music's great, Lyrics not so much)
- Visionary. (meh all around)

I would say not even for completists, to be honest. And again, only vinyl LP, so if that's not your thing you are out of luck.
Interesting. I thought The Tides Return Forever was a big step up from the two previous albums (three if you count Wildgeese).
And I also quite like Visionary, my own ranking would put it a lot higher (and Destination a lot lower). But I do agree that of these choices, Planets and Time To Turn are at the top.
Metromania is worth it for Follow The Light, a cool sounding track that has remained in the live set for many years (and appears on the previously mentioned Reincarnation On Stage, which is indeed an excellent live document).

I'm one of the weirdos who really likes Performance and Metromania.
Codename: Wildgeese is cool for what it is: a Tangerine Dream-esque electronic soundtrack. No, Frank isn't on it. It's Hannes Arkona, Hannes Folberth, and Klaus-Peter Matziol. They didn't ask his permission to use the name, either.
I think Planets and Time to turn were the last good albums. With Tides they had a nice return.
I really love Planets which I think is one of the best Eloy Albums.
Time to Turn works (and maybe intended to) as the second Disc of a double Album with Planets.
It's a bit weaker but still good. I think a mix from both Albums would have created a Killer Album.
If you are into Vinyl the HMW issues of those two Albums have much nicer covers.
From then it is going downwards, a lot of so so to okay stuff following.
Get Wildgeese only if you can get for a buck or so
I'll also add my liking of The Tides Return Forever. Not great, but a decent return to form (the final track is a bit too repetitive for me, but the rest is pretty good).
Ocean II is half good, half dull to my ears. The first 4 tracks are like classic Eloy, the rest seems too meandering and unfocused, IMO. I have not heard Visionary or The Vision, The Sword And The Pyre, Part I. Or that live album for that matter. Guess I need to place an order soon
My take on this:
- Planets. * (Yep just 1 star)
- Time to Turn. *****
- Destination. *
- The Tides Return Forever. ***
- Performance. *
- Metromania. ***
- Ocean II. *****
- Visionary. *
I initially dismissed The Vision, Sword, Pyre but repeated plays show it is better that I thought.
Part 1 was decent for me but no mindblowing. I'll probably check this one out eventually.
