Great sets from both Gong and The Ed Wynne Band in Leeds on Saturday!

Received my vinyl copy of this yesterday - lovely packaging and great presentation, the stars on the cover really shine!

So yeah, my third listen through the album fully was my vinyl listening experience with it and it hit even heavier! Getting a bit more familiar with the record and growing into it more. Still find the start of the album a bit slow but it makes that payoff all the better when it bursts in finally! Badass music and great to hear in 2019. Track 2 definitely has a Knifeworld vibe and Track 4 got the Cardiacs / Frank Black vibe. Kavus' writing can definitely be heard!

Yes, I guess everything kinda gets much better once it's on Kscope.

Bump, so people notice that this is the thread for the new Gong album. Everything else is officially unofficial.

What I wrote on the unofficial still holds true for me:
Gave it a few listens, great album, though I get more of a Steve Hillage Fish Rising vibe from it than Gong, but still love it anyway...

I'm super excited to hear this mess live next month! The clips have been pretty darn good.

I saw the current Gong band playing as Steve Hillage's backing band on his current tour, and they were truly excellent.

They are doing a double header UK tour, playing their own set and then again with Steve Hillage (in November), I will be going along again.

The new album is my favourite of the year so far.

How do we get these guys to come to the states?

Pay their airfare which apparently the Quebec promoters failed to do, resulting in the cancellation of the gigs with Hillage we were so stoked for.

Really enjoying the new album, with its great Canterbury/Hillage/psych vibe

that's really it - money - loads of cash! although I wouldnt want to even try with the current administration blocking all kinds of people for no good reason.

When I bought my tickets for the Quebec shows, maybe 50 tickets at best were sold in advance... The key is probably to have Hillage with the band, that will sell tickets. But you know, they're playing on the Cruise, so maybe they'll want a warm up gig or two...

I rather lucked out last night, with a gig just 20 miles from home, usually it’s a couple of hours into and across London to see anyone of note.

Last night, in a tent, in a field in the historic small town of Lavenham, Suffolk, the wonderful current line up of Gong played a double header with the Ozric Tentacles, to a small but enthusiastic crowd. Kavus was the star man, really bringing the Gong vibes and positivity, channeling the great Daevid. The whole band was playing a blinder though, with focus upon their recent music and even a new song, My Guitar Is A Spaceship.

It seems it is was an almost impromptu gig, as the joint tour is not until November. However it was a simply perfect way to spend a summers evening. I managed to get some good photos, being so close too.

The Ozrics were slimmed down rather than full band, just Ed and Silas, with occasional congas and flute added. It was good but I look forward to the full band lineup next time around, it’s always better with driving bass and drums.

PS - Chris, did you ask Kavus about any happenings with "The" Cardiacs?

Glad it was great. I would love to see that show.
