Uncle Steve has it ! .

"Impossible to find jazz/soul/funk monster by Fusión, issued in Chile in 1975 by ALBA (ALD-041)—a fulsome combination of funk, electric jazz, and soul, with Latin roots."

    Recommended!.

Not sure what the qualifiers for Funk are in this thread, but I was there in the late 60's and early 70's. I mean in minneapolis we had KMOJ, the station of the people, Prince, The Time, not to mention the 100's of other local talent that brought the slap and thump to the music. It was a great era.

    Wiki states:
Funk is a music genre that originated in African-American communities in the mid-1960s when African-American musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of soul music, jazz, and rhythm and blues (R&B). Funk de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions and focuses on a strong rhythmic groove of a bass line played by an electric bassist and a drum part played by a drummer, often at slower tempos than other popular music. Like much of African-inspired music, funk typically consists of a complex groove with rhythm instruments playing interlocking grooves that created a "hypnotic" and "danceable feel".

not 100% on topic (Chocolat's was a full-out disco project born on the Belgo-French border), but there is a bit of Soul Sacrifice in here
If there is one sole worthy album, it's king of clubs (the rest really stinks)

"Sweetback" by Ivan "Boogaloo Joe" Jones.

Good news Trane, Friends: available again!.

"Jones recorded 8 albums in a Soul-Jazz vein for Prestige in the period from 1968 to 1973, but his most furious, frenetic, funky and in-demand record has to be “Sweetback,” recorded in Upper Darby, PA in 1975, and originally released on the Joka label."

    Released July 16, 2019.

    Pura Vida!.

    Mustafa Özkent - Gençlik İle Elele.(1973) - 2019 repress vinyl -

"Originally released in Turkey 1973, Özkent's masterpiece (creation) of an all instrumental Turkish Psychedelic Funk album, filled with classic beats and breaks still inspires long time fans and first time listeners. The funky rhythms, hypnotic percussions, and heavy break beats makes this a holy grail amongst DJ's and music fans alike."

    Agree!.

Nice. A keyboard-player with a recognisable sound. Listen to Pekka Pohjola - Keesojen Letho or Made In Sweden - Where do we begin.

    Not 70's, but....

Free Funk Trio " Aventure Du Pont" '87 fusionprogfunk, Switzerland

Also '80s Germany had an explosion of fusion bands. Some of which had the funk twist.

Looks like no one brought up DEMON FUZZ 'Afreaka" ,which is unpardonable considering its one of the most-sampled funkpsychprog lps ever.

I'm more concerned that he appears to have moved to Canada. Can our internet infrastructure stand the strain?
