Right now I can think of:
    - Leader of the Starry Skies: A Tribute to Tim Smith, Songbook 1.

    - Yes / Every Little Thing.

    - DT / A Change Of Seasons:
    The Big Medley:
Floyd, Kansas, Queen, Dregs, etc. plus 3 more good covers of Zeppelin, Elton John and Purple. (IMO!)

    - ELP / Pictures At An Exhibition.

    - Ars Nova / Tarkus.

    - Rush / Feedback:
“The record features eight covers of songs (blues & hard rock) that were influential for the band members during the 1960s.”

    Regards.

Mark I Deep Purple was more a cover band than anything else. Their rendition of Kentucky Woman launched Neil Diamond into fame.

Neil Diamond was already famous both as a songwriter (most notably for the Monkees) and as a recording artist in his own right (1966 Top Ten hit "Cherry Cherry") well before Deep Purple covered him.

There was a German band in the nineties who did an EP with several prog classics on it (Carpet Crawlers, ITCOTCK, Bungle in the Jungle, Golf Girl, Roundabout, Child in Time):
