Cool. I think what I'm going to do is buy Nektar's The Other Side.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)

This is really good! Thanks for sharing this!

I'm not exactly clear, are there going to be separate DVD's of the Progstock and Orion shows, or one double DVD with both? Orion was 2 separate shows IIRC.

Last Saturday I joined the live stream presented by Tom Palmieri's Progstock that I enjoyed very much, it was a very nice gesture form the band to the fans and lasted about 3 hours!

We got all the nektar classics: Recycled, Remember the Future, Tab in the Ocean and some of the newer tracks. Sound wasn't that great but the feeling was nice and enjoyed hearing more about their tour memories.

If you are in an upstart band and in your 20's, touring in a van can be ok because you have the youth and motivation to make it big.
However, I see that these guys who are much older like Mo Moore and Ron Howden who are in their mid-70's are still doing this, is quite astounding!
And have nothing to prove but are keeping the flame alive for the fans. That is very commendable.

The other thing I noticed is that the musicians consider the sound and lighting technicians as band members too! That is a nice touch.
I cannot recall their names but they all participated in the virtual call last Saturday with Tom and Mo.

Thanks for the YouTube concert link.

I wonder why you don’t think the sound was good? Is it a matter of Wifi bandwidth? On the stream, bandwidth is defaulted to auto, I think. The stream was Airplayed to my main system which is near audiophile. The quality was better than Youtube and didn’t seem compressed. Had a quite good stereo image. Certainly, like many live shows, the mix can be scrutinized, but this seem fine.

Was it only last February that I saw Nektar at the Iron Horse? Seems like a long time ago...I look forward to watching the show(s) tonight!

I discussed the audio with a Progstock specialist and he said they stream at 320 kbs which is pretty good. He said however it can depend on the band’s local server and their settings. It sounded better than most YouTube IMO.

The only portion of the program that was profissionaly recorded in multitracks and mixed was "Orion Studios, Jan. 11, 2020: Dream Nebula/ It's All In The Mind / Drifting", the rest was just a mic from the audience, like a bootleg. So the quality is variable. But, it's Free, so i can't complain.

Yup, source material. Orion sound kicks ass. The rest sounded like Dime bootlegs. Still worth more than the price of admission and appreciated! We really enjoyed Progstock presentation.

Yes but 320 kbs rate from Stageit, made those sound much better than almost all audience videos I’ve seen on YouTube.

BTW, there have been Stageit streams for previous Progstock shows that were better. Those sounded like lossless 24 bit/48 KHz and quite good. They all seem to have this property of closeness that is like being there, independent of whether the clarity is the ultimate or not. Especially the ones recorded in very small rooms with sound treatments with out audiences, and not overdriven acoustics. I’m looking forward to the Mystery show next Sat.

Awesome show. Ryche is a great - I won't say replacement, because nobody could replace Roye - but he's a great guitarist. His voice is OK but not up there with his playing, I'm afraid.

The setlist is excellent. The sound - well, there were a few places where I think the guitar dropped out, but otherwise, good sound.

And the energy is huge! Obviously people who love what they're doing and do it so well. At RtF Pt 3, the energy and playing kicked up another notch and stayed that way for the rest of the show.

(Yes, I realize that this is patched together from different nights. So? It's one show to us watching it.)
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

The zoom meeting with those guys between sections was entertaining too.

For you guys liking the Orion. Ryche and I spent a few weeks mixing these 2 concerts for DVD release early next year. It was only our fourth concert but the venue and the Nektarines made up for it. Any people who made or paid for both shows will get at least the audio free, we are thinking of giving them the visuals too. Coming out great

Hey Mo! I'm definitely in for a DVD. Your seleced shows on Youtube from two weekends ago was stunningly good. I picked up and am enjoying The Other Side. I shared the link with a buddy and he bought a vinyl release of one of your classic albums (can't remember which one right now!).

    I rest my case.

However even if sound was not 100% perfect, I enjoyed it as I said.

I missed the Mystery virtual concerts last Saturday, I'm sure lots of fans joined in and it was a nice one as well.

Hope to see everyone in 2021 at Rahway, NJ!

I’ll definitely get the Orion DVD, and of course the sound was the best of the sets. Is that the final product Mo?

The Mystery Progstock show audio and video was excellently done in a relatively small venue. Blu-ray (with 5.1) to come soon.
