Probably they’ll roll Bran into some remote room again for a while.

I liked the reunion of Jon Snow and Arya. Sweet.

Visually great, the opening scene is my favourite with the camera following the kid. Story wise : reminds me a Peanuts strip where Snoopy tries to write a novel and the first sentences are all over the place and have no connection at all and in the last case he just smiles at the reader and says : "Eventually I will ty them all together."
Dieter Moebius : "Art people like things they don’t understand!"

It's already almost time for episode 2! No title revealed yet (first episode was simply titled Winterfell).

One thing I forgot to mention was how cool the new opening sequence is!

    Wow!

We are in for a very, very serious and major episode 3.

According to IMDB, the episodes from here on out are longer than an hour, so I'm guessing the next one catches up a bit with whatever is going on at King's Landing, before the remainder of the episode is the huge battle about to take place at Winterfell. It's funny, those are basically the only two locations on the show now.

Two full hours of stage setting and its rushed by, wonderful stuff, still no-one dead but somehow I think we're in for a bloodbath next week. Can't believe the Night King will win next week as that would wipe out around 2/3 of the characters. Probably some sort of stand-off at the end.

That was a cozy room Tyrion and the rest were hanging out in. Nice roaring fire, wine and all. I’d probably go from there down to the crypt!

In the books Winterfell was a cozy place not because of the fire, in fact they probably didn’t even need one since the castle sits on a hot spring and is warmed by circulating hot water like a “modern” boiler system.

Oh, and can I just say: good to see Ghost is still alive and still around, even though he has had nothing to do with the plot.

Very little mention of how Dany will employ her dragons and no mention at all on how to combat the ice dragon...

Maisie Williams was eleven when the show started. She's now 22. While I haven't exactly been keen on seeing her nekid I must say that what they did show looked...pretty good.

The group drinking in front of the fire was just a wonderful back and forth, funny one moment and heartbreaking the next.

I'm thinking that many minor characters will die but we're going to see the major players live through the siege (barely). It will be the battle with Cersei that will cost us dearly.

You could be right, but then it depends on what you mean by minor characters. At this point, just about everyone is there at Winterfell and even those who aren't the "main six" or whatever are going to be someone's favourite.

That was really just a filler episode, pretty much uneeded, when there are only six (?) total for the season..

I see what will happen, most of the army will have been slaughtered by the undead and the remaining stars will be holed up in the castle and just when they break through and it looks like all hope is lost - the Night King Leader gets killed and the army reverts back to dust. I also see two dragons dying, one more good one and the Night version dragon, probably will kill each other!

Then they will have to recoup and march on Kings Landing to a well rested army and with one dragon left, it should be enough to defeat Cersie, who is killed by Jamie, then Jon and Blondie rule the seven Kingdoms...

Oh boy...next week should be insane! I feel a little strange that I looked at Arya's boobs. I mean cmon, they were boobs so I had to, but still...felt weird. Loved the fireside chat. Sunday can't come soon enough...

That's where I'm at. I think for a lot of viewers it was...awkward. But in my case it's not necessarily because of her age (as she was 21 when filming the scene), but because she was one of the very few women on the cast that wasn't sexualized. I preferred that especially in her case because of her role on the show. It's a big part of why she is one of my favorite characters on the show. The whole scene was almost quite literally gratuitous and I didn't care for how it was done personally. But oh well.

Actually when I saw the scene the first thing...okay the second thing that went through my mind was that Gendry is toast. And his death will set Arya off (motivational event).

The sex scene imo has sort of glossed over what I think was a huge revelation in the series when Bran stated that The Night King was after him personally. I felt like that connection needs more flushing out. What's your thoughts on how this affects the episodes to come?

I wonder how Theon is going to fare guarding Bran in the godswood. I also wonder if Tyrion's idea that he might be killed, turned undead and travel to King's Landing to kill Cersei might actually come to pass. That would be pretty fantastic.

Whatever happens, the setting up is done. All hell is about to break loose!

I don't have an issue with it, myself. Arya is a take charge kind of woman, and that's just what she did. And we have watched her ruthlessly murder people, after all. A little sex isn't so bad. And unlike many other instances on the series, there was no full nudity or actual sex being shown. It's probably the most tasteful sex scene they've ever done, now that I think about it.
