Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Giovanni Venosta the leader is composing (and teaching) film music in Milano and has a couple of avant prog projects. One of them is the Magma cover project and another one is called Nippon Eldorado Kabarett with covers of Japanese Avant Prog Acts 'After Dinner' and 'Wha-ha-ha.
