On Rick's most recent vid, he does his "what makes this song so great?" treatment on "DoaV".
As usual, a very fun and educational watch.
I just love his comment at about 15:26! I wish most young musicians would pay attention to it.

And if there were a god, I think it very unlikely that he would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence - Russell
These are always lots of fun because he'll go from breaking down some tricky passage in real time to air drumming then back again.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
Thanks so much for sharing this clip Simon! And Heck Yes, Rick's comment about "No click tracks being used here" is something that today's musicians should pay heed to and he made a similar statement in his great clip for Yes' "Roundabout". Would love to see Rick doing similar "What Makes This Song Great" clips for Gentle Giant, King Crimson, ELP & others (it's a long shot but we can dream).

Great stuff - cheers. Has he ever done a Cardiacs tune?
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

I hope Rick does Entangled at some point, too. This was a great watch!

I really enjoy it, and it is apparent that he has enjoyed it too!
"Dance on a volcano" has always been one of my favorite Genesis tunes. Thanks for sharing.
This guy has really found a niche and made the most of it. Much of what he says and points out is absolutely spot on. I'm a fan.

Happy with what I have to be happy with.
I like him. I'm amazed at what a great job he does replicating the tones of the guitars and basses from the recordings. He gets very, very close!
Another excellent vid from Beato.................fun and instructional..............thanks for sharing !
Weird... I was just watching this on Rick's site and thinking "the Progressive Ears folks would love this!"
I love Rick's videos. A couple other ones that I liked were the one about his son's perfect pitch and the documentary about virtuoso Aydin Esen.
<sig out of order>
This was so cool to watch. Breaking down a great song and all the odd meter elements.
Yes, his enthsusiam and knowledge are a great combo. I wish Tony’s parts were covered more. But an excellent job overall.
Live, the band always pulled it off quite well. 76 was my favorite. They had some new videos and slides (of volcanoes) on the old, Lamb-era projection system and it was a nice element. Having Bill B play was pretty cool too.
Better start doing it right!
Fabulous video, it made me appreciate the song even more. Trick has so many killer songs, perhaps Mad Man Moon is my fave.
I've never actually watched one of his videos. It was fun! Think I'll check out a few more.
