No it's not. This is just a repackaging of the Billboard interview in which one of the three says he expects it to happen.

That's just regurgitating a Billboard article. I recommend reading the original instead: https://www.billboard.com/articles/n...ive-roundabout

The Billboard article does have Wakeman saying final tour in 2020, although it also has Anderson being much vaguer. Lots of other interesting bits in the article.

I've pretty much avoided all recent YES threads, but I just can't believe there is still so much interest in them.
Maybe with the rise in the interest of Reality Shows......folks are projecting the remnants of this band into a Kult Of Kardashian! I agree with you and Yes were one of my favorite bands but their relevance these past two decades has waned.....there is So Much going on out there to listen to.......

Next, Yes, the hologram-tour with all past members, who don't want to do the tour as holograms. (Yes I know it is not really a hologram, but it's clear).

I can actually imagine Billy Sherwood doing this. With himself playing along with holograms of all the YES guys.

I would pay to see that, but I would send a hologram of myself and my wife sitting in the audience drinking 3D beer and wine.

I remember decades ago Steve Howe saying his wife would hate it if he had to go out to do a gig when he was 40.

Well that had to be at least 30 years ago, so I doubt he remembers saying that.

Rick is asked about the future of ARW in this new (September 2019) interview with Mitch LaFon:

"There is a very, very strong possibility that we will do a last hurrah in 2020 and 2021, possibly with one last great track - a new track that we'll put together....It looks very promising that it will happen. I sincerely hope it happens because we will be doing 60, 70 odd shows throughout the middle of next year into 2021."

And just like that - after all of those Wakeman quotes that everyone got excited about - the ARW tour is off. Thanks Henry for staying on top of this breaking news. ;-)

I think the tour has been postponed until 2021. In spring, Anderson said three times that they might tour/had talked about playing together again in 2020 or 2021. My guess is that Anderson wants it postponed for one of several possible reasons. If Anderson doesn't want to do it, it would be cool to have Benoit David in RWD.

I saw an on Instagram for a ARW show in Paris for May 2020, presumably that is now off, if it was ever on in the first place?

I don't think they ever got near to planning a schedule, so, no, I don't think that show ever existed at all.

Sure there is. Why did Anderson say three times this past spring they had been thinking of 2020 or 2021? Now Wakeman is saying a tour next year doesn't fit Anderson's schedule. If ARW is over, then why wouldn't Wakeman just say it? Instead he mentioned how they should get together for just two days in the studio and get more done than they could by exchanging files over a two month period.

If the tour had been postponed, would not Wakeman have said that? What Wakeman says now is clearly more pertinent than Anderson's non-specific comments two seasons ago. Sure, they could get together later, but there is no indication of this.

Should, but aren't, and he seems frustrated that they aren't.

Why can't you admit this band is going nowhere?

Anderson was specific three times about when a regrouping would happen: twice he said "2020 or 2021" and one time 2020. Why did Anderson have 2021 in his mind then? That is why him saying that 2021 was also a possibility is important. I don't know why interviewers don't ask follow up questions like: "So is ARW finished?", but they don't.

Should, but aren't, and he seems frustrated that they aren't.
But if he thinks ARW is over than why comment? Wakeman wasn't saying only what was wrong in the past - not a way to finance getting together for two months - but what ARW should be doing now. They all know there is a chance for one more tour, and unless ARW is over, i looks like Anderson wants it to be in 2021. There also may be a rift over using the Yes name with Anderson agreeing only if they tour with that name whereas Wakeman is now strongly opposed.

Yeah, yeah. Just like many where positive that ARW was over until Wakeman said several times this past summer that a 2020/2021 tour was likely. From September:

"We're talking about it, Trevor, myself and Jon, and I think there is a very good, er... very, very, very strong possibility that we will do a sort of last hurrah in 2020 and 2021, where we will go out, y'know, possibly with one last great track, a new track that we'll put together, that we've been working on. [...] It looks very promising that it's gonna happen. I sincerely hope it happens because we will be doing 60, 70 odd shows throughout sort of the middle of next year through to, um, into 2021".

Was Wakeman just crazy to say that or was he conveying how he saw the situation just six weeks ago?
