Our starters against the Cards starters last night looked like men against boys. Murray couldn't get out of his own way while Carr sliced and diced their D. The final score ended up being close but in preseason you pay close attention to the first quarter, and the Raiders looked very cohesive on both sides of the ball. A lot of speed on both sides as well.

I saw a new penalty last night that cost the Ravens a touchdown. You can't block a player without him knowing you are going to block him. This penalty would have kept the Ravens out of the playoffs and a super bowl title in 2012.

We'll let the season play itself out but I think this will be a much improved Raiders squad, especially on the defensive side of the ball.. Our 2 first rounders on that side of the ball both impressed me yesterday. We've added some veterans too. On offense Jacobs might be legit, and we've got speed on the outside. For sare our starters looked like they were more cohesive than the Cards', and the Air Raid offense looked very susceptible to the blitz.

Watched the Browns-Colts game at a sports bar. This was the depth game. Mostly 3rd and 4th teamers and people who will be in one of those other leagues. Still, as I said before, some football is better than no football.
