It never took a Rhodes scholar (even in WI where they don't abound) to figure out both Rodgers is a prima donna and McCarthy was more than anything else a bumbling doofus who squandered the on field talent given him. Prima donnas and doofuses are equally prevalent in the NFL.
That article was for me a pretty accurate assessment overall.

Anyone following the AAF debacle?

No. Since I did not follow the AAF itself. I heard they suspended operations, but that the league had not folded??

Supposedly, they had decent ratings. Someone should follow the stink and get to the bottom of this.
I sometimes listen to Pro Football Talk in the mornings and they have been talking about it. Seems like the money guy just decided to pull the plug. Timing kind of sucked to as one of our hometown heroes Running Back Jarvion Franklin had just signed on with Memphis a day or two before, so I was planning on checking them out. Apparently Vince McMahon has already made inquires about buying some of the leagues assets (not really sure what that means) and is still planning to go full bore into the XFL next year.
Here is a pretty good article from Deadspin on how the AAF players were left high and dry: https://deadspin.com/the-aafs-sudden...ith-1833813021

Not sure what other option they had, you're never going to get trade value, he's a very good QB so no guarantee you'll ever get one as good in the draft, that's where the market is going. All of the QB's who sign after Wilson will get bigger contracts. We may look back in two or three years and think we got a bargain.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
^ It does tend to wreck your cap flexibility and options for the surrounding cast. Therefore, you have to make sure that the quarterback you're giving the Brinks truck to is actually an elite quarterback. (See Joe Flaccid.) It's hard enough even when he is. (See Aaron Rodgers.)
I'm not crazy about it either but it is the marketplace. Wilson has proven to be a very good quarterback in a league where quarterback play is still very spotty even among the names of up-and-coming QBs.
Seattle has so many other issues on offense. Throwing money at 1 position isn't going to give them two or three extra wins.
