Which subgenre? Eclectic, Crossover or Heavy Prog

    Hello dear friends and colleagues!
With a request to those of you who would have taken the time to hear a bit from our debut album! It is extremely interesting for me, which of the above-mentioned Progressive rock subgenres would you define the music in this album?
Thanks in advance for your attention and time!

I just think of it in the Progressive Rock genre, and haven't a clue as to what subgenre it would be considered.
Sorry, I can't be of more help..is there a subgenre called "great".

    Hello Daniel from Greece,
I am not sure I really understand the terms eclectic, crossover etc so I don't think I can really help you with that. To me it's melodic, symphonic prog with a heavy edge on guitars. I am listening now and I really like it.

I would suggest you start a thread in the main forum, which gets a lot more traffic. I am sure there will be people who will check your music out there. And like it.

And if they get a bit itchy with the subgenre thing, don't take it personally! In PE labels are not positively accepted.

Richard, you sincerely cheered me, for which I thank you! !
But if there is such a subgenre, it is still reserved for artists and bands like Jimmy Hendrix, Frank Zappa, The Beatles, The Who, Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, VDGG, Toto, Pink Floyd, Kansas, Chicago and many, many others......

Hello Zappathustra and greetings to the southern neighbor of Bulgaria!

First of all, I want to thank you for your time and attention listening to the music on the album! Also thank you for the tips! I'll keep them in mind!
And I'm not a fan of labeling music and art in general. I asked this question because the inclusion of the album in a popular progressive rock archive requires it to be labeled as subgenre.
By the way, I have not heard much Greek progressive rock - except Aphrodite's Child, Vangelis and an interesting post rock band - Tuber.
I would be grateful if you would direct me to some interesting Greek artists and bands! Not only Prog

Yes, I understand. It's silly but necessary.

As for the Greek prog question, a fresh release that I think you could find interesting is this. https://methexis.bandcamp.com/album/topos

There are also a lot of good suggestions here http://www.progressiveears.org/forum...eek-prog-in-it

    Greetings!

None of those are real subgenres.

Nobody apart from a couple of dozen people at Progarchives uses that terminology or recognizes those subdivisions.

I agree with you on the definition of these sub-genres.
Regarding Progarhives, the official procedure for joining a new band in the archives is to define it in a specific sub-genre and the band to be evaluated by the team responsible for the specific sub-genre.
