thank you so much for contributing to my thread and posting this.
I'm still on the fence and at present I feel comfortable with Soundcloud(kind of like an old familiar and comfortable blanket). Plus I'm starting to use YouTube more and now post new music on both sites.
I'm now uploading my songs to SC in WAV format, so downloads can at least be downloaded in WAV and get the best quality sound.
    thanks again

The author says Bandcamp is better, albeit in a pretty profane way.
Yes, it is a pretty hard read. The adventage of Soundcloud is people can write comments to a song.

If a band with such great music as 3RDegree can't sell music on Bandcamp, it's hopeless.

Well, we have a way of selling digital copies of our music on our website so if some people are wise to that and know about Bandcamp taking 15% and want to give it all to the band then one can visit a band’s website directly after finding them in BC.

Like most amateur musicians, it's very easy to post your music ... and not sell it.

This is an old thread, I later uploaded my music to Bandcamp and at first used name your price, then several months later decided to set a price.
And of course, SoundCloud is a wonderful option, and if you allow downloading you can provide a WAV download if you wish.

I've discovered, unless artists really work the promo end of things it's difficult to get folks to listen or respond to new music by unknown musicians.
But at my age, I'm happy to still be able to continue my hobby and love for music, and if 1 person likes it, you're already ahead more than if you hadn't shared.

    Thanks for commenting Bob.
