Major thanks and praise for the diligence and ideas of our Thomas Olssen, who has been keeping me in the loop with the ups and downs of IB since one of the first IB Expos.

Great to see this kind of collaboration and personally, I can't wait to get my filthy mits all over it!

One of the finest writers about music, ever, Richard Williams, posted very favourable comments about In Amazonia on his blog.

I really fancied getting the green vinyl special edition, but seems sold out, so will settle for the CD. I really enjoyed the Hogarth collaboration, so am excited to hear this full album collaboration with one of the greats.

A couple of more plays in and I can say that this album is completely awesome. All the super positive reviews are completely justified.

Its not really Isildurs Bane, not really Hammill or VDGG but something pretty unique that stands completely on its own. I expected it to be a quality release but i did not expect it to be this fierce and intense.

I have to let it sink in for a couple of weeks but right now I am considering it to be a carreer highlight for both IB and Hammill. It is THAT good.

the music is really cool but I'm confused as to why Hammill's voice sounds so janky - there's so much hiss around it, as though he wasn't being recorded properly

I hear what you mean but I think it is done intentional for some 'psychedelic effect'. I actually like it.
Hammill recorded his parts in his own studio at home so it is not likely that the vocals were not recorded properly.

Yes, the more dramatic effects on the vocals were added at the mixing stage by Charles Storm.

Here's footage from the first performance, from the Gouveia Art Rock festival. Just one basic camera and pretty shitty sound that doesn't do the music justice, but if you're really interested, you may want to watch it.
