    New Supersister album

Over at the Dutch progwereld.org/ I read that Robert Jan Stips is going to release a new album entitled Retsis Repus with Supersister(-style) music under the moniker Supersister Projekt. A concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam in April is also planned. Sounds interesting. There will also be a documentary about Mr Stips on Dutch TV this Thursday. I'll check it out to see if I can glean more info on the new album from it.

No, This is a one time thing considering the long list of guests at the concert.
He might do a short tour with a smaller band after the release of 'Retsis Repus'.

I've seen fairly recent interviews in which Stips' wit and cleverness seems every bit in place, so there's certainly some promise that this may come out nicely.

He is one of those musicians who keeps exploring and doesn't stick to the past.

    Sad story about his dad.

Loved the documentary. It was mostly about supersister and just a bit about other bands he's played in. Just a few minutes about his work with the Nits, the band in which he played the longest and was the most commercially succesful. I guess that part is the best documented anyway so it does not really matter.

I loved the bit where he was complaining about that people always were trying to pigeonhole the music of Supersister. He said he only felt 'honored' that people reckoned Supersister to be a part of the Canterbury scene although he did not know any of those bands at the time.
