Folks who were not as lucky as guys like myself, who caught Jaga Jazzist's terrrific show with the Brittten Sinfonia in Oslo last fall - the final show of Conexions, a series curated by Fiona Talkington, host of the terrific BBC Radio 3 show Late Junction, amongst many other things, and which I reviewed here - will be happy to hear that Jaga will be releasing the Oslo show on May 6 as Jaga Jazzist Live With the Britten Sinfonia.

A video:
I just got a digital copy from drummer Martin Horntveth, and it's as good (and that means very, very good) - maybe even better - as I remember it.
Anyway, just thought I'd drop the info here, since there are quite a few Jaga fans. One of things that is said that is absolutely true: ""Mathias' trumpet solo on Bananfluer Overalt is probably my favourite moment on the album," says the group's writer and creative driving force Lars Horntveth. "He really shines here and has the space and time to improvise in a way he hasn't been able to do before with Jaga alone."
There is one new composition, written specifically for the occasion, called "Prungen."
Ok folks, now cheer up; May 6 isn't that far off...
