    Happy 50th Birthday King Crimson!

I thought there was a KC 50th Birthday thread but couldn't find it.

Anyway, HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY KING CRIMSON!! Today! The day they started rehearsals in 1969.

To celebrate, DGM is posting 50 "rare or interesting" KC track to YT, one every week. The first is the 21CSM radio edit, introduced by David Singleton:

Still my favorite band after all these years.

Hope they make it another 50.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

For simplicity's sake I will jump from the other thread to this one.

    Happy Birthday Crimso!

I'm looking most forward to the book, the documentary and the KCCC releases. To begin the speculation on the what the other two are: A physical release of Chicago 2008 (so that the KCCC contains stuff from every lineup that played live) and something from the Three of a Perfect Pair tour to file next to Absent Lovers.

I've still never seen them live. Maybe this will be the year.

My wife and I and a friend of ours had dinner last night in the very cafe on the Fulham Palace Road where it all began, and snuck down into the basement for a few moments for a peek. It really is TINY down there!

Happy 50th Birthday to King Crimson. Considering all the ups and downs that Robert Fripp & the Band(s) have endured since they started back in 1969, it's a wonder (and a privilege) that we have a current (and Definitive) edition of Crimson to celebrate with.

Looking most forward to the documentary and late era remasters! And hopefully another show in my area. If so, I might have to go stag. I tried my wife's patience the last time.

What remasters do you mean? I must have missed something.

    The Heaven and Earth box

May: Heaven and Earth: Multi-disc CD/ DVD-a/Blu-Ray set covering the period from the late 1990s – 2008 – completing the availability of all King Crimson studio albums in 5.1 multi-channel audio
If it follows the pattern of the previous releases, it'll be new mixes/masters, stereo and 5.1, of those 3 albums.

I guess I did somehow miss that - are there going to be stereo remasters? Can't see how those would be needed, but a box might be nice anyway. Especially if there's live stuff included.

I would think there would have to be. A pure 5.1 box would be pretty limited in it's appeal. And re-releases without remastering would just be a a cash grab.

For Christmas I gave my son the complete Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers book. I loved those comics when I was in college!

Coinkydink knocking. I just bought this before Christmas myself. I can't believe you'd corrupt your son this way.
