I only bought the very first Factor Burzaco-release (the one with the orange cover) about a decade back, and I have to say that this was one of those rare instances where I actually felt rather oblivious to a South-American modern "avant-progressive" effort. I found their sound to be somewhat "dry" and lacking in flair, their tunes didn't catch me and there wasn't much core to chew sufficiently into. They weren't bad, musically speaking - they just didn't speak to me in the sense I was expecting. Perhaps I should try again and dive into some of their subsequent titles? These clips above are better than anything I recall from that debut.

    S.S.:
Maybe 3,76 is the best way to try again with their music, for example:
"This, the fourth recorded output by FB is a spectacular summary of what this ambitious project is all about: an updated review throughout the lads' repertoire, done in a different way, with studio-re-elaborated live-in-concert takes, remixes and unreleased tracks."

    Factor Burzaco is excellent imho!
    Lovely band.

You might want to check out the recent teaser of upcoming album PRESAGIOS by Spanish band October Equus. Sounds really great to me.

This is good to hear! Is it safe to assume that Wayside will be carrying it?

Mmm...this is very enjoyable. Any chance there is a CD version that I'm missing, or is it just LP and download?
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

With Spoonman and the inimitable Simon Steensland (playing theremin) - or the other way around:

The part here from 4:34 and on, with ace alto-sax legend Mats Gustafsson duelling with a premenstrual psychotic young woman in imposing dread, is one of my fave moments of modern music.

And then the late and lamented Steve Gore, lamenting.

I am going too see Fred Frith Trio tomorrow at Tampere Jazz Festival. Any interesting insights about that band? I have listened the studioalbums and know that drummer and bass player are from Jack O' The Clock (which is marvellous group!).

Insight: they're 75% improvisation, but the composed stuff is sometimes so rapid, dense and knotty that it all comes down to a total package. Granted I haven't seen them, but I know a couple of folks who did and I've heard Closer to the Ground and it's a less-noisy, less-backheavy, less-punky rendition of, say, Bone (with Didkovsky and Hopper). I prefer the F.F.T. to the revamped Massacre, which I never really connected with.

Nutsack Clipper you're my hero!... so it was a crusher to learn that yer' not a rabid Massacre sycophant! If memory serves, they put out one album w/ Maher and four with Hayward (the only personnel change so far). They may not be as groovy as the new Yes, but it might be fair to say that they're fully vamped w/ Hayward in the line up (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihj7c57bRcs
